The biggest fad on the Internet right now is people pretending to be oppressed.

This is dumb on so many levels

If it was about being positive about your weight no matter your size itd be one thing, because positive body image is important for everyone to have thick or thin. But this is just making excuses for being overweight.

Is there a stereo type about fat people? Yes. Does putting down people of healthy weight make thr better? No!

Ive always been “husky” and im ok with it. I had girlfriends in highschool. I went to parties. Ive had a great, fun, amazing life. Stop making excuses for being ashamed of yourselves and live your damn life.

They claim this is form of “oppression” because it is institutional, but superficial insecurities hardly make the cut. Of course I believe positive body image is important and it’s not fair to judge a person or their health by their body, and the stereotypes are certainly unfair and a problem, but this isn’t oppression. People haven’t been enslaved, segregated, denied basic human rights, etc. because they were fat. 

The thing that bothers me is that it trys to defend a poor lifestyle choice. People that are actually “oppressed” are people that or put down or kept back by something that is not a choice, “race, gender, sexual orientation” and those that are oppressed dont strive to even the field by lowering the opposition, they just want viewd on the same high level as everyone else.

You cant brig yourself up by dragging others down. You can only better yourself by striving to be better. And unhealthy weight is something that is within everyones control. Do some have to work harder to achieve it? Yeah but that just makes it more worth having in my book.

This just really seems like someone who doesnt want to own up to their choices and probably doesnt accept responsibility for much else in their life.

I dont know why i care about this stuff honeatly i smoked weed for the first time in a while and now i just wanna tell people my thoughts on stuff
